We’re looking for a Senior Estimator to join one of Australia’s respected, family-owned Tier 2 contractors right here in Darwin. In this role, you will be a strategic partner with a seat at the table for some of the Territory’s most influential infrastructure builds across private and defense sectors, operating within a culture that truly values its people and first-principles framework.

About your next role

  • Review comprehensive tender documents in detail to identify scope and requirements
  • Conduct thorough site visits to become acquainted with local conditions, suppliers, and services
  • Prepare detailed estimates and build-ups of indirect costs using industry-standard software such as Expert Estimation
  • Collaborate with construction site staff to ensure estimates reflect real-world production rates and methodologies
  • Analyze quotations from material suppliers, plant hire, and subcontractors to ensure the best commercial outcomes
  • Identify and prepare summaries of market risks and opportunities for senior management review
  • Manage the final check and timely lodgment of all bound tender submissions
  • Lead the handover process for successful tenders, ensuring project teams are fully briefed on key factors and expectations

What you will need to bring

  • Extensive experience in civil construction estimating, specifically across infrastructure or urban development projects
  • Strong proficiency in estimating software, with a preference for Expert Estimation
  • A sharp analytical mind with the ability to identify abnormal risks and commercial opportunities
  • Exceptional communication skills to develop associations with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
  • The ability to work under pressure to meet strict tender deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • A collaborative mindset and an optimistic outlook to contribute effectively to the wider team

Mandatory Requirements

  • Proven track record as a Senior Estimator within the Australian civil industry
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management
  • At Least, 5 years + preferable in civil and subdivision projects
  • Valid Driver’s License (required for site visits)
